Route 128, America’s Technology Highway, traverses through the City’s modern office and industrial parks and is home to many national, international and Fortune 500 companies. The City enjoys a favorable bond rating and is in excellent financial condition.
Waltham is known for its revitalized downtown district and offers numerous cultural and recreational opportunities, including the 250-acre Prospect Hill Park, Charles River, museums, national historic sites, and two institutions of higher education: Bentley University and Brandeis University.
The City values educational excellence for all its students. As part of that commitment, the City has constructed 8 new schools (6 elementary and 2 middle), and will open the new comprehensive Waltham High School in August 2024.
